Honolulu police have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a bank robbery in Kailua last Friday.

The man, who gave no local address, was arrested Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Ward Gateway Center near the Ward Avenue Starbucks, police said.

He is being held pending a count of first-degree robbery and two drug-related offenses.

Police said a man walked into the Kailua branch of Hawaii National Bank on Aulike Street just before 4:30 p.m., handed a demand note, and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police said the man may also be a suspect in other crimes.
