Hilo man charged with burglary after gun found in car

Hawaii County police charged a 22-year-old Hilo man Friday in connection with burglaries in Kona and Hilo.

Kawika Larinaga-Napihaa was arrested Sept. 13 with two other suspects in a parking lot in Hilo after police found a firearm in the vehicle they were in. 

Police also recovered from the vehicle a second firearm allegedly stolen in a Hilo burglary, as well as a laptop allegedly stolen in a Kona burglary, police said.

Police charged Larinaga Napihaa with two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree theft and two firearms charges.

His bail was set at $96,000.
