Under heavy security, a 23-year-old Makaha man accused of killing a one-time friend by shooting him in the head made his initial Honolulu District Court appearance today.
Chad Duran faces second-degree murder in the shooting death of 26-year-old Christopher K. Medeiros.
Duran, dressed in blue prison overalls, did not speak during his appearance before District Judge Leslie Hayashi. Duran, represented by attorney Don Wilkerson, will enter a plea at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in District Court.
Duran’s bail is set at $750,000.
