AT&T gets faster
AT&T has activated its 4G LTE network in Honolulu, making faster speeds available for users with LTE-compatible devices including the highly anticipated iPhone 5 consumers have ordered in record numbers.
The LTE, or long-term-evolution technology, has been available in Hawaii to Verizon customers since last year. It offers lower processing time for data, such as loading a website, or for mobile gaming, two-way video calling and other services.
AT&T announced earlier this month that it would offer 4G LTE in Hawaii before the end of the year. Details on activation of the service in other isle areas have yet to be released.
