Man rescued from burning apartment dies of injuries
A 60-year-old Moiliili man, critically burned after a fire destroyed his apartment on Sept. 25 died Saturday from his injuries, the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said.
The medical examiner identified the man as Glen Doike and said he died from multi-system organ failure and smoke inhalation.
Two neighbors kicked the door open and pulled Doike from his burning apartment at the Kaualana Manor I, on Church Lane at about 7:21 p.m. on Sept. 25.
Paramedics took him to the hospital in “extremely critical” condition with burns to more than 90 percent of his body.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, fire officials said.
