WAILUKU » A man who was snorkeling when he was found unresponsive in the water at Maui’s Hoolawa Bay has been identified.

The Maui News reported Wednesday that the man has been identified as 44-year-old Gregory Blair of Haiku.

Police, firefighters and medics responded to a neighbor’s report that Blair had possibly drowned.

Blair and the neighbor had gone swimming Monday in the ocean at the end of Honopou Road before the neighbor lost sight of him. He then saw him bobbing in the water, apparently lifeless, and pulled him to shore.
