Memorial service for Chi is today
A memorial service for "Peter" Frank Kan Chi will be held today at the Stan Sheriff Center on the University of Hawaii campus.
Chi, a UH swimmer, died on Saturday at age 19.
Born in Iowa City, Iowa, on Oct. 17, 1992, he is survived by his father, Robert, and sister, Sharon.
Visitation at the Sheriff Center is 4:30 p.m. today, with the memorial service starting at 5:30 p.m.
The family suggests donations be made in Chi’s name to "his beloved University of Hawaii swim team."
Lowe wins national racquetball title
Aiea’s Jimmy Lowe won the gold medal in the singles 45-and-over division at the Racquetball U.S. Open last weekend in Minneapolis.
Lowe defeated Keith Minor 15-14, 15-10 in the final.
Lowe also won the Classic Professional Racquetball Tour’s 40-and-over division.
Grand Canyon trips HPU in soccer
Saeed Robinson scored in the 89th minute on a pass from Brandon Hansen to lead Grand Canyon to a 1-0 men’s soccer win over Hawaii Pacific in Phoenix.
Goalkeeper Mael Lefebvre made four saves for the Sea Warriors (5-5, 5-2 Pacific West Conference).
The Antelopes improved to 10-2 and 5-2.
» In the women’s match in Phoenix, Grand Canyon routed HPU 6-1.
Samantha Bush led the Antelopes (6-4-2, 5-1-2) with two goals.
Andrea Aguirre had the only goal for the Sea Warriors (3-7-1, 2-4-1).
