Police arrested a 33-year-old man who tried to cash a personal check at a Waianae establishment, allegedly stolen from a car belonging to a 45-year-old man.
The man fled from police officers but was caught later near the scene.
Police arrested the man on suspicion of attempted theft and forgery.
