Woman shoplifting $600 pair of jeans tied to credit card fraud

A 36-year-old woman who was caught shoplifting a $600 pair of jeans from Neiman Marcus was sentenced today to 31 months in federal prison after she admitted committing credit card fraud and aggravated identity theft in an unrelated case.

Melody J. Cablay is also facing a maximum 10-year state prison term from the shoplifting case, which became a robbery when she shoved and scratched the Neiman Marcus security officer who apprehended her.

Honolulu police arrested Cablay April 28 for the robbery.
