Feds investigate suspected Honolulu bank robber
Federal officials are now investigating the man whom police arrested Tuesday in connection with two bank robberies.
The 46-year-old suspect, who gave no local address when he was picked up, is suspected of robbing the Kapiolani Boulevard branch of American Savings Bank and the Aina Haina branch of Territorial Savings Bank.
The man in Monday’s Territorial bank robbery is described as 5-foot-6, 300 to 350 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a large tattoo on his left forearm.
On Tuesday, a similar-looking man entered the American Savings Bank branch at 12:30 p.m., demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed sum of money, police said.
He was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of two counts of second-degree robbery.
