Take ‘Mango Tree 101′ on Saturday in Makaha
Learn how to care for mango trees at the Malama Learning Center’s "Mango Tree 101" workshop Saturday in Makaha.
The class, led by Mark Suiso, owner and CEO of Makaha Mangoes, covers information on planting, pruning, harvesting, fertilizing and more. The workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Suiso’s farm, 84-370 Makaha Valley Road.

Help out at a hospital for a few hours per week
Kuakini Health Systems is seeking volunteers to staff the information desks and snack shop, help patients with meals and provide companionship.
Other volunteer opportunities include staffing fundraisers and other special events. Kuakini also is looking for people who are certified through the Healing Touch program.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and able to commit to at least one three-hour shift a week.
