Whitmore Village man arrested in stabbing of relative

Police arrested a 21-year-old Whitmore Village man who allegedly stabbed a 42-year-old relative this afternoon at their Hoihoi Avenue home.

The two men got into an argument that escalated, and the younger man allegedly stabbed the older man in the chest with a knife at 2:23 p.m. and fled on foot.

The 42-year-old man was taken in serious condition by ambulance to the Queen’s Medical Center, where he was later upgraded to stable condition, an Emergency Medical Services spokeswoman and police said.

Officers found the man nearby and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.
