One person died at the scene and four others were injured in a crash on Kamehameha Highway near Plantation Road this afternoon.

Four tourists who were injured in a three-car accident near Waialua on Thursday afternoon were treated for bruises and abrasions at the Queen’s Medical Center and released.
Killed in the 3:30 p.m. accident on Kamehameha highway was a 61-year-old Waialua man who was driving a gray 2004 Volkswagen. His name has not been released pending notification of relatives.
Police said the driver was speeding.
Two men from Switzerland and a couple from Tokyo were treated at Queen’s and released.
Police said the Volkswagen was traveling north on Kamehameha Highway when it crossed the median two miles north of Paalaa Uka Pupukea Road and hit an oncoming 2012 silver Chevrolet sedan driven by a 21-year-old male visitor from Switzerland. His passenger was a 22-year-old man from Switzerland.
The Volkswagen split in two, and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.
Parts of the Volkswagen hit a gray 2012 Dodge van driven by a 32-year-old male visitor from Tokyo. His passenger was a 27-year-old woman from Tokyo.
The two men from Switzerland and the couple from Tokyo were taken by ambulance to Queen’s in serious condition. They were treated at the hospital and released.
