The Statue of Liberty reopens today after a year of renovations. Visitors will be able to explore the crown, the pedestal-observation level and a portion of the top of the star-shaped fort that serves as the base for the statue, according to a statement from the National Park Service. A Coast Guard helicopter patrols New York Harbor as it passes the famous statue.
