Boo Chips are ideal treat for guys or ghouls

While browsing Whole Foods Market, these ghost-shaped Boo Chips caught my eye. The potato chips are perfect for a Halloween party or a spooky surprise in your keiki’s lunch box. And while they’re not organic, they are fun, crisp and transfat-free; a 1-ounce serving has about 130 calories. Distributed by Tony’s Fine Foods in Sacramento, Calif., the Boo Chips are $2.99 for a 5-ounce bag.

Halloween earrings let you rock out all year

These earrings offer an adorable take on Halloween, but with the bold graphic printed on guitar picks, they’ve got enough rocker chic to wear throughout the year. Go guilt-free with reusable chopsticks

Those throwaway wooden chopsticks are so ubiquitous and convenient that most of us never think about how many trees it takes to make the millions of wooden chopsticks that are used once and discarded each day by people around the world. The Tzu Chi Foundation offers an eco-friendly alternative: reusable plastic or metal chopsticks that are simple to assemble and disassemble and easy to clean. The plastic version ($4) fits together like little custom pool cues. The metal "James Bond" chopsticks ($8) are spring-loaded, locking in place and closing up just as easily. Tarot card plates can hold food, jewelry

I’m no believer in the occult, but I predict you will be spellbound by these vintage-look tarot card plates, discovered while checking out the fun Halloween merchandise at one of our favorite stores: Red Pineapple in Ward Centre. The handcrafted glass plates with gold leaf are food-safe but would also do nicely on a bedroom dresser as a place for your rings and other jewelry. The 3 1/2-by-5 1/2-inch plates by Two’s Company sell for $11 each and come in six designs: The Sun, The Moon, The Emperor, The Empress, The World and The Lovers. Organic sunscreens offer natural protection

If you are looking for a more natural sunscreen, consider Elemental Herbs’ SPF 30 products, which offer both UVA and UVB protection. The zinc oxide sun-stick ($7.99) works well on the face, especially your nose, and is made with 75 percent organic ingredients including coconut oil and avocado. Traditional zinc sunscreen ($15.99) is also available. Both are biodegradable and the residue won’t harm coral reefs. The company also sells tinted SPF 18 lip balms ($3.99) in shades from nearly sheer to dark red. The ingredients include calendula, comfrey, lavender, extra-virgin olive oil, beeswax and peppermint essential oil.
