A 26-year-old Waikiki woman was charged today after she allegedly whacked a man on the head with a two-by-four after accusing him of taking her bicycle.

The suspect was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree theft. Bail was set at $11,000.

Police said the suspect, carrying the two-by-four, approached a man who was walking with the bicycle at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in Waikiki. The suspect told the 32-year-old man that she owned the bike. When the victim tried to call the person whom he said had sold him the bike, the suspect grabbed the phone and threw it in the Ala Wai Canal.

The pair argued and the suspect hit the man on the head with the two-by-four. The victim was treated at the scene.
