Man, 39, is shot multiple times in Waipahu
Honolulu police were investigating a shooting in Waipahu that left one man in serious condition Sunday night.
The incident happened around 7:40 p.m. near Paiwa and Waipahu streets.
The victim, a 39-year-old man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken by paramedics to a local trauma center.
Suspect held in gas station robbery
A man suspected of robbing a Tesoro gas station on Farrington Highway in Waipahu at gunpoint early Tuesday morning is now behind bars, police said.
Police arrested the 33-year-old suspect Saturday at about 10:15 p.m. near Nanakuli High and Intermediate School.
Police put out a CrimeStoppers bulletin Thursday seeking information about the suspect.
He allegedly entered the Waipahu gas station at about 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, brandished a gun and demanded money.
The suspect has not yet been charged with the crime.
Man almost drowns at Sandy Beach
A man believed to be in his late 30s was in critical condition following a near drowning at Sandy Beach late Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m.
Paramedics transported the man to an area hospital.
Horse bites off 7-year-old boy’s finger
A 7-year-old boy is recovering after a horse apparently bit off one of his fingers Sunday afternoon in Waianae.
According to ambulance radio transmissions, the boy was attempting to feed the horse when the horse bit off his pinky finger.
The finger was recovered, and the boy was taken by paramedics to Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center for treatment. He was later transferred to a trauma center, according to city officials.
Toddlers injured in fall from window
Two toddlers were taken to a trauma center Sunday afternoon after falling from a second-story window in Ewa Beach, the city’s Department of Emergency Services said.
The boys, 2 and 3, were transported in serious condition after falling just before 12:30 p.m. at Hulihana Place, said an EMS spokeswoman.
Fire at nightclub’s front door extinguished
Honolulu police are investigating a possible case of arson at a nightclub on Kona Street early Saturday morning.
Police and fire personnel were called to Club Red Rose at about 4:40 a.m. for a small fire at the front door. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the structure suffered only minor damage, according to police.
The case is being investigated as first-degree arson. No suspects have been identified.
