Traffic stop leads to car theft and drug arrest

An officer pulled over a 19-year-old Waimanalo man on a traffic stop in Kaneohe and discovered the car was stolen, police said.

The officer, on special duty, saw the man commit a traffic violation at about 3:20 a.m., police said. When the officer ran the vehicle’s license plate, it showed the vehicle was reported stolen.

While conducting their investigation, police also discovered drugs and arrested the man on drug violations in addition to suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle.
