Brian Viloria unified the WBO and WBA flyweight titles with a 10th-round TKO of Hernan “Tyson” Marquez on Saturday night at the Los Angeles Sports Arena.

Viloria (32-3, 19 KOs) entered the ring as the WBO champion and left with both titles after knocking down Marquez (34-3, 25 KOs) three times in the fight.

Viloria scored the opening knockdown in the first round on a hook and again put Marquez on the canvas with a three-punch combination in the fifth round, ending in a straight right that sent Marquez onto the mat.

The biggest shot came in the 10th round when Viloria uncorked a left hook that was the beginning of the end for Marquez.

Marquez made it back to his feet but was badly hurt. Viloria lifted both arms in the air before the referee signaled for the fight to continue.

After a few more shots, Marquez’s corner threw in the towel, ending the fight a minute into the 10th round.

Viloria has successfully defended the WBO title three times since winning it from Julio Cesar Miranda at the Blaisdell Arena in 2011 and has won seven in a row overall.
