» The Play: QB Jeremy Higgins completes a 26-yard touchdown pass to SB Clark Evans.
» Impact: This was the first time Hawaii scored a touchdown on its opening drive all season and the first time it held a lead since the Sept. 15 Lamar game.

2. Getz Yards
» Situation: Hawaii 7, Air Force 7, around 13:00 remaining, third quarter, Air Force ball second and 2 at own 27
» The Play: RB Cody Getz goes up the middle for a 54-yard gain.
» Impact: Five plays later, Getz powered in from 5 yards out and gave Air Force the lead it would keep.
» Getz: "Nothing fancy. It was our team getting after their team and seeing who’s more of a man. Our linemen did a heck of a job."
3. Red Zone Fumble
» Situation: Air Force 14, Hawaii 7, 7:43 remaining, third quarter, Hawaii ball third and 5 at Air Force 17
» The Play: Higgins throws a screen pass to RB Joey Iosefa, who runs into a teammate and fumbles. DL Nick DeJulio recovers for Air Force at the 10-yard line.
» Impact: Instead of taking advantage of a fumbled punt caused by Kamalani Alo that gave it the ball at the Air Force 22, Hawaii turns over the ball.
» Iosefa: "That was my fault. That should have been a touchdown play. It’s all on me."
4. Run Force

» The Play: RB Jon Lee carries for 52 yards to the Hawaii 20.
» Impact: Wes Cobb scored on a 2-yard run five plays later to give Air Force some insurance. Air Force did not pass the entire game, rushing 68 times for 338 yards.
» Lee: "We’re Run Force. You know it. We’re all about the run."

» Impact: UH frittered away this chance too, gaining just 8 yards on four downs. For the game, Air Force held Hawaii to 162 yards.
» Air Force coach Troy Calhoun: "It’s been one challenging year, to say the least. And yet it’s neat to see these guys be rewarded and play in another bowl game."
