Kauai County Ocean Safety officials reopened Hanalei Bay to swimming this morning, following Monday’s closure because of shark sightings.

Lifeguards on Monday reported that two large sharks were sighted roughly 100 feet from shore fronting a surf spot known as “Pine Trees.”

“No Swimming” signs were posted along the beach and the public was advised to stay out of the water until further notice.
