» The Play: QB Sean Schroeder completes an 11-yard pass to WR Miah Ostrowski for a first down.
» Impact: Hawaii gets into UNLV territory and earns a fresh set of downs on the opening drive. Hawaii was 3-for-3 on the drive on third down and 5-for-5 to start the game.
» Schroeder: "That’s the name of the game — stay on the field and move the chains."
2. Breaking Through
» Situation: Hawaii 0, UNLV 0, around 10:14 remaining, first quarter, Hawaii ball first and 10 at UNLV 25
» The Play: RB Joey Iosefa breaks through the right side of the line, sheds two defenders and covers the rest of the 25 yards untouched for UH’s first touchdown.
» Impact: Iosefa, who suffered a critical red-zone fumble last week at Air Force, redeems himself with his first rushing score of the season, and another via a pass reception in the second quarter.
» Iosefa: "This game was something where I had to make up for it, to show Coach I’m confident carrying the ball. It’s something I’ve been working on this whole week."
3. Stoppage
» Situation: Hawaii 7, UNLV 0, 0:11 remaining, first quarter, UNLV ball fourth and 1 at Hawaii 47
» The Play: DE Beau Yap and LB T.J. Taimatuia stop RB Tim Cornett for a 2-yard loss and Hawaii takes over on downs.
» Impact: Hawaii scored on the next drive to expand its lead. For the game, it held UNLV to 2-for-18 on third- and fourth-down conversions.
» UNLV coach Bobby Hauck: "Their defensive front mauled our offensive front pretty good. We did not win on their corners on third down in particular … and that was the difference in the game."

» The Play: S John Hardy-Tuliau intercepts QB Nick Sherry’s pass and returns it 38 yards for a touchdown.
» Impact: On the previous series, UNLV’s defense stopped Hawaii’s offense for losses on all three plays. But Alex Dunnachie’s 73-yard punt and this pick-six two plays later returned the momentum to Hawaii.
» Hardy-Tuliau: "We’re just trying to build momentum right now for our next game, our next season. Building momentum. It’s all encouragement and positives."

» The Play: PR Scott Harding takes P Chase Lansford’s kick at the Hawaii 31 and returns it 69 yards for a touchdown.
» Impact: Hawaii’s first punt return for a touchdown since 2007 serves as some personal redemption for Harding, who misplayed a punt in UNLV’s 40-20 win over Hawaii last year.
» Harding: "What a relief. It felt so good to take one to the house. We got the win and it feels so good and that’s the main thing. It’s great to get that feeling back."
