Richard P. Silva III was in court Monday for his trial in the shooting of two men in Kipapa Park last year.

A state jury found Richard P. Silva III guilty this afternoon of assault and reckless endangering for shooting a man in the stomach and another man in the back last year at Kipapa Park following a confrontation at The Shack Mililani.

Silva, 44, was on trial for first- and second-degree attempted murder.

After wounding the two men, Silva fired more shots at them as they lay on the ground, hitting one of them two more times but missing the other.

Both men survived.

Silva claimed he shot the men, one of them a childhood friend, in self-defense.

The prosecutor said Silva shot the men because of a long-standing grudge he has against one of their friends.
