Fire crews aid 2 hikers in separate incidents
Honolulu Fire Department rescue personnel assisted two hikers in distress in separate incidents Sunday.
The first call came in the morning when a man in his 50s became ill while hiking on the Koko Head Crater Trail.
Rescuers located the man, airlifted him off the trail and transferred him to the care of waiting Emergency Medical Services personnel.
Around 2 p.m., HFD personnel came to the aid of a male hiker who became los while hiking on a trail in the Waiau area. The hiker was airlifted to safety and no medical treatment was necessary.
