Kalihi woman charged in attack on man and his car

A 22-year-old Kalihi woman was charged Sunday with allegedly damaging a car and assaulting its 31-year-old driver following an argument Saturday night.

Celeste Sipili was charged Sunday with first-degree criminal property damage, third and fourth-degree criminal property damage and second-degree assault. Her bail was set at $75,000. She was scheduled to make her initial appearance in District Court this morning.

Police said Sipili and the victim got into an argument at 8 a.m. Saturday at Mitsu-Ken restaurant on North School St. when a 16-year-old boy hit the victim with a dangerous instrument.

Sipili then allegedly damaged the victim’s car and chased the victim in her car, while a second male suspect struck the vehicle with another "dangerous object," injuring the victim, police said.

The 16-year-old boy was arrested Saturday and released pending further investigation. A third suspect, a man whose age was not given, also is beng sought.
