Fire destroyed the top floor of a two-story home in Kalihi Saturday afternoon, displacing two families and causing nearly $300,000 in damage.
Honolulu firefighters were called to the scene at 3:07 p.m.
The house was occupied by two separate families.
A woman in her 20s and a 13-year-old boy were in the structure when the fire broke out. Both were able to escape safely, although the boy reportedly sustained minor burns.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Damage was estimated at $240,000 to the structure and $50,000 to its contents.
