Two 17-year-olds from the second vehicle also went to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
The crash happened about 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Farrington Highway and Auyong Homestead Road, near the Nanakuli 7-Eleven store.
Police closed one lane of the highway while they investigated the crash.
Alleged attempts to rob Don Quijote lead to charges
Prosecutors charged a 26-year-old Kaneohe man who allegedly tried to rob the Don Quijote store in Waipahu twice last week.
Corey Taum was charged Friday with two counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, two counts each for place to keep a weapon and use of a firearm, and failure to register a firearm.
On Monday, Taum allegedly pulled a handgun on a security guard at the store and left without paying for merchandise.
According to police, Taum returned to the same store on Wednesday around 9 p.m. and again attempted to leave without paying for liquor.
The same security guard recognized Taum from the Monday robbery. The guard unsuccessfully attempted to stop Taum, who again brandished a handgun and fled.
Taum allegedly left in a black pickup truck that had been stolen a week earlier. Police found Taum a few blocks away.
The driver of the truck remains at large.
