A bodysurfer took off on a wave at Sandy Beach on Friday. National Weather Service forecasters said surf on east-facing shores could reach 7 to 10 feet over the next two days.

A high surf advisory for east-facing shores of all islands has been extended through 6 p.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service says.

Forecasters said waves could reach 7 to 10 feet.

Beachgoers are urged to stay out of the water and away from the shore break because of dangerous wave action and strong rip currents.
