Power restored in Mililani and Nuuanu
Hawaiian Electric crews were busy dealing with two separate power outages on Oahu this afternoon, one in Mililani and and the other in Nuuuanu.
About 500 customers in the Nuuanu area were disconnected about 2:45 p.m. so HECO personnel could make repairs to overhead equipment in the area, HECO spokesman Darren Pai said.
The repairs were being done in the vicinity of Oahu Country Club, Pai said. Power was restored shortly before 5 p.m.
In Mililani, power was restored just before 4 p.m. to about 1,100 customers along Meheula Parkway near Mililani High, Pai said.
Merchants at the Town Center at Mililani confirmed power had gone out for more than hour but had returned by 4 p.m.
Power went out in that area about 1:30 p.m. due to a malfunctioning underground cable, Pai said.
