Maui fire rescue personnel airlifted a stranded 65-year-old Lahaina woman who was hiking on the Pali Trail Thursday.

The woman started her hike in Maalaea and got to the 1-mile marker on the Lahaina side of the trail before feeling faint, a fire official reported.

Fire personnel contacted the caller, and decided to bring her down by helicopter.

The woman was brought down to a landing zone around noon and transferred to a medic unit.

She was not injured, but was dehydrated and lethargic, a fire official said.
