BYUH surges past Holy Names
Freshman B.J. Ford came off the bench to hit six 3-pointers and score 24 points and Bracken Funk turned in a highly productive game to lead Brigham Young-Hawaii to a 94-75 victory over Holy Names in a Pacific Western Conference men’s basketball game at Cannon Activities Center on Thursday.
Funk had 21 points on 9-for-10 shooting, 15 rebounds, six assists and four steals in just 26 minutes. DeAndre Medlock added 21 points on 10-for-13 shooting with six rebounds for BYUH (5-5, 2-0), which outrebounded Holy Names (3-7, 0-3) by 17, 42-25.
Dunhour helps NDNU beat Hilo
Former Academy of the Pacific star Micah Dunhour had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Notre Dame de Namur past Hawaii Hilo 64-60 in a men’s PacWest basketball game at Hilo on Thursday.
Kiel Myers scored 15 points for UHH (2-9, 0-3), which led 36-26 at halftime before the Argonauts (2-8, 2-1) outscored the Vulcans 38-24 in the second half.
