Shark warning signs come down on Waianae Coast
Shark warning signs came down at Nanakuli Beach Park and Keawaula Bay after no sharks were sighted this morning, a spokeswoman for the Department of Emergency Services said.
Lifeguards posted the signs warning peopleto stay out of the water at Nanakuli Beach Park and Yokohama Bay following a second day of confirmed shark sightings on Sunday.
Ocean Safety officials Sunday confirmed a sighting of a 6-foot shark around 2:30 p.m. at Nanakuli Beach Park, said Shayne Enright, spokeswoman for the city Department of Emergency Services. Officials on Saturday confirmed a shark sighting at the beach around 4:45 p.m.
Also Sunday, an 8-foot shark was seen around 3 p.m. at Yokohama Bay, where warning signs also have been posted. That shark sighting was captured on video.
