ABC is having a garage sale from the shows it shot in Hawaii.
Most of the items are run-of-the-mill props with no special significance, but if you want to buy a prop or set decoration used on one of four of the network’s TV shows, including "Lost," now’s your chance.
The network is selling everything left behind after "Lost," "Off the Map," "The River" and "Last Resort" ended. Although "Lost" had a successful six-year run, the other three shows were canceled after their initial seasons, which created an eclectic array of items in storage at the state film studio at Diamond Head.
Anyone hoping to snag a Dharma Initiative jumpsuit or bit of plane wreckage from "Lost" will be disappointed, though, as all the good stuff from that hit show was auctioned off in 2010. The most interesting memorabilia at this week’s sale come from "The River" and "Last Resort," said Alana Hong, who worked in the props departments for both shows.
From "The River," which starred Bruce Greenwood, the network is selling cloth patches and lunchboxes emblazoned with the logo for the show’s fictional adventure travelogue, "The Undiscovered Country." The beloved Marbely teddy bear, lanterns from the show’s ship, the Magus, and a seedpod that released a curse are also up for sale. Topping the list from "Last Resort" are a special-effects screwdriver that retracts when you stab someone with it, and the chest mount that shows the tool protruding from your victim’s chest.
Furniture, camping equipment, backpacks and cookware are all for sale as well.
ABC even has a rubber photographer’s tripod that was used to strike an actor without causing injury, Hong said.
The best part might be the price tags on pieces from this recent chapter of Hawaii TV history.
"We’re kind of like, ‘Give us an offer,’" Hong said.
The items will be sold from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and Wednesday at the state film studio at Diamond Head, 510 18th Ave.
