A new hotel on Lanai is part of the vision of the island’s new owner, billionaire Larry Ellison.
Representatives of Ellison’s Lanai Resorts LLC shared the plans with community members at a meeting today, according to one person who had a representative at the meeting.
The hotel would be small but very high end on an oceanfront site once occupied by a day-trip activity operation known as Club Lanai.
Other parts of Ellison’s vision include expanding solar energy production, a possible desalinization plant, increased farming and an expanded airport runway.
Lanai Resorts officials could not be reached for immediate comment.
