Waipahu man charged for allegedly assaulting police officer

    Donald Sales, above, was charged with resisting arrest and allegedly attacking a police officer after being arrested Monday afternoon at the Central Pacific Bank in the Westgate Shopping Center in Waipahu.

A 55-year-old Waipahu man was charged with resisting arrest and allegedly attacking a police officer.

Donald Sales was arrested Monday afternoon at the Central Pacific Bank in the Westgate Shopping Center in Waipahu. His bail was set at $50,000.

Police said the suspect assaulted one officer and then fought with other officers who tried to arrest him. He was also charged with fourth-degree criminal property damage after allegedly defacing bank property.
