Hawaii basketball junior forward Christian Standhardinger was named Big West Conference Player of the Week today, making him a rare repeat winner of the honor.
The 6-foot-8 Standhardinger averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 67 percent in UH wins over Long Beach State (94-73) on Thursday and UC Irvine (78-72) on Saturday.
The last Rainbow Warrior to repeat for conference player of the week honors was Anthony Harris, who did so in the Western Athletic Conference in the 1995-96 season.
It was the third BWC weekly honor to go to UH this season; freshman guard Brandon Jawato received the other.
The Rainbow Warriors (15-9, 9-4 BWC) are on a five-game winning streak.
