Former Bellagio blackjack dealer indicted in 10-year-old girl’s death
LAS VEGAS » A grand jury is accusing a former blackjack dealer of kidnapping and murder in the death of her ex-boyfriend’s daughter, and on attempted murder and other charges in a slashing attack hours later of a co-worker at a Las Vegas Strip casino.
The indictment handed up Friday in Clark County District Court means 50-year-old Brenda Stokes Wilson won’t face an evidence hearing late next month.
Her arraignment is now set March 6.
Stokes Wilson is in jail, accused of killing 10-year-old Jade Morris during a Christmas shopping outing in December, and of attacking a 44-year-old Joyce Rhone with razors at the Bellagio.
Police and family members say they think the attacks were sparked by jealousy.
Stokes Wilson’s lawyer, Tony Liker, has said she intends to plead not guilty.
