Honolulu liquor administrator resigns from practicing law

Honolulu Liquor Commission Administrator Greg I. Nishi­oka has resigned from practicing law and agreed to repay misappropriated money to clients, according to the state Disciplinary Board of the Hawaii Supreme Court.

It is unknown whether the resignation will have any effect on Nishi­oka’s job as administrator.

Before taking the job in 2011, Nishi­oka was an attorney at Nishi­oka and Fuji­oka. Nishi­oka’s resignation takes effect March 13.

Nishioka was unavailable for comment Thursday.
