H-1 work to snarl Pearl City traffic
Transportation officials are advising Oahu drivers of potential traffic delays this weekend, with roadwork slated on the H-1 freeway from Pearl City to Waipahu, and in Kakaako.
Multiple westbound lanes on H-1 will be closed between the Pearl City Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu offramp (Exit 8-B). Those closures run 9 a.m. Sunday through 4:30 a.m. Monday, the state Department of Transportation said.
Two H-1 eastbound lanes will also be closed, from the Kamehameha Highway overpass to the H-1/H-2 merge from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, DOT said. For more information, visit www.pmcontraflow.com.
In Kakaako, Punchbowl Street from makai of the Pohukaina Street intersection to Ala Moana Boulevard will be closed 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for trench restoration work. For more information, visit www.honolulutransit.com.
