HPU sweeps Hawaii Hilo in baseball
Hawaii Pacific extended its winning streak to seven games and capped a four-game sweep of Hawaii Hilo by taking two nonconference baseball games Friday in Hilo, 7-0 in nine innings and 4-2 in seven.
The Sea Warriors opened Pacific West Conference play Thursday by beating the Vulcans 6-5 in 10 innings and 2-0 in seven.
Hawaii Pacific is now 11-3 overall and 2-0 in the PacWest. UHH is 2-15 and 2-8.
Leadoff hitter Jordan Oshiro was 4-for-7 with three runs scored in Friday’s doubleheader for HPU, while teammate Russell Doi was 3-for-6 with four RBIs in Thursday’s sweep.
