Man is secured after standoff in Mililani
A barricade situation in Mililani was resolved at about 3 p.m. Saturday after several tense hours.
Officers responded to an argument call this morning and found a man refusing to come out of the home on Kealakaa Street.
The Honolulu Police Department’s Specialized Services Division responded.
Police were finally able to secure him.
Emergency Medical Services said a man in his 30s was taken at 3:05 p.m. by ambulance to the hospital in serious condition for medical reasons.
Collision in Poamoho injures 2 people
Two people were seriously injured Friday in a two-car collision on Kaukonahua Road in Poamoho.
The collision occurred about 4:50 p.m.
Both of the injured — a 56-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy — were transferred by Emergency Medical Services to a local trauma center.
A 46-year-old woman refused treatment at the scene.
Bike and moped thefts on the rise at UH
University of Hawaii Campus Security officials are warning students, faculty and staff of a rise in bicycle and mo-ped thefts in the upper campus, lower campus and student housing areas.
Riders are being advised to secure their mopeds and bicycles to a fixed object in a lighted area.
Security officials are also asking anyone who witnesses someone tampering with a bicycle or moped to call the Campus Security office at 956-6911.
