UH’s Harrison falls short in NCAA diving
University of Hawaii freshman Aimee Harrison finished six dives, and her total in the 1-meter springboard event was not enough to rank in the top 16 to advance at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at Indianapolis on Thursday.
Harrison, in her first season of collegiate competition, finished with a total of 222.95. Arizona’s Samantha Pickens won the event with 331 points.
Harrison will compete in the 3-meter springboard today.
Grand Canyon beats HPU in baseball
Harlynnd Griffiths had two hits and three runs batted in as Grand Canyon beat Hawaii Pacific 5-3 in the first game of a Pacific West Conference doubleheader at Hans L’Orange Park on Friday.
Casey Fithian drove in two runs for HPU (17-8, 8-5). Five pitchers spaced 12 hits for the Antelopes (19-5, 15-1 Pac West).
