Moped rider critical after car collision
A 22-year-old man riding a moped went to the hospital in critical condition after a collision with a car in Makiki early Saturday morning, paramedics reported.
The accident happened on Nehoa Street near Ualakaa Street at about 2:45 a.m., police said.
Traffic investigators closed Nehoa Street between Makiki and Poki streets for about three hours while they examined the accident scene.
3 suspects charged in armed break-in
Police have charged three men in connection with an armed break-in in Pearl City on Tuesday.
Thirty-year-old Ariel Nebres, 31-year-old Shawn Mancao and 54-year-old Anthony Raynon were charged Thursday with first-degree robbery and multiple firearms violations.
According to police, the three men, all masked, broke into the residence, fired a gun, then fled in a dark-colored vehicle. Police located and arrested the three suspects, along with two other men, in Aiea.
Bail for Nebres and Mancao was set at $25,000 each. Raynon’s bail was set at $50,000.
Woman arrested for stabbing boyfriend
Hawaii County Police arrested a 45-year-old woman Saturday morning after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend.
The incident occurred just before 5:30 a.m. in the Ainaloa subdivision near Pahoa.
Police said they determined through witness interviews and a victim statement that the woman stabbed her boyfriend with a "large kitchen knife" after they got into an argument. He was wounded in the stomach and wrist.
The woman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of first degree assault and abuse of a family member.
Police said the case is under investigation.
