HPD officer among many DUI arrests
A Honolulu Police Department lieutenant was among dozens of motorists arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influ-ence of an intoxicant at the start of the Good Friday weekend.
Lt. Colin Wong, who serves in HPD’s Specialized Services Division, was arrested in Waikiki at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
He was released after posting $1,000 bail.
Specialized services includes the SWAT team.
Man, 30, is charged in Nimitz robbery
Police have charged a 30-year-old man allegedly involved in a robbery on Friday morning.
According to police, Chester Karshom, who does not have a local address, approached a 30-year-old woman in a North Nimitz Highway retail store and demanded money while wielding a dangerous instrument.
Karshom was charged Saturday with first-degree robbery. His bail was set at $15,000.
