Son, 25, arrested in attack on father, 62
Police arrested a 25-year-old man Tuesday morning at a Waikiki hotel for allegedly choking his father during an argument.
Police said the argument began at 10:30 p.m. and escalated when the son punched his 62-year-old father, placed both arms around his neck and choked him.
The suspect was arrested at the hotel on Kuhio Avenue on suspicion of abuse of a family member.
Man with dementia missing since Sunday
Police asked for the public’s help Tuesday in finding a missing 61-year-old man who is suffering from early signs of dementia and a medical condition that requires daily medication. The man went missing near Moanalua Golf Course.
Masakazu Toguchi was last seen at noon Sunday in the area of Ala Iolani Place.
Police described him as of Japanese ancestry, 5 feet 3 inches tall and 131 pounds, with a gray crew cut. He was wearing a gray T-shirt, gray shorts and sandals.
