Hit-and-run suspect from Saturday incident turns himself in

A 24-year-old Nuuanu man, sought in a hit-and-run case last week, turned himself to police Thursday afternoon.

Police said  the hit-and-run incident occurred at 4:05 a.m. Saturday morning and started as fight near a nightclub by the intersection of Kapiolani Boulevard and Piikoi Street.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene.

No information was released on the victim.

Police arrested the suspect for suspicion of first-degree negligent injury and to failure to render aid.

He was released pending further investigation.

He is scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on April 22 for a drunk driving charge from last month.
