Boy dies after falling from skateboard in Hawaii Kai

A 16-year-old boy died this afternoon in a skateboarding accident in Hawaii Kai, police said.
The boy was on a skateboard being towed by a moped, lost his balance, fell and hit his head on the pavement at 3:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Kalanipuu Street, police said.
The teen was transported by ambulance in critical condition to a trauma center, Emergency Medical Services said. The boy later died, police said.
