The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 42-year-old man whose body was found on Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo Friday night as Marc Bucho.

The Medical Examiner found that the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries, but the manner of death has been deferred pending further investigation.

Police are investigating the case as a possible hit-and-run.

An investigator with the Medical Examiner’s Office said Bucho’s friends reported he was homeless.

Jason Bucho, who lives in Alaska, said his brother, Marc, had been a heavy equipment operator, but because of a medical condition, could not work.

Marc Bucho was born in Idaho, his brother said.

Residents in the area reported hearing a loud thump, but no car brakes being applied.
