South Korean rapper Psy, known for "Gangnam Style," has a new hit that was released in Korea on April 12. While nowhere nearing the record-breaking 1.55 billion (and still counting) YouTube views of "Gangnam Style," "Gentleman" has received more than 226 million.
Psy’s new video has not come without controversy. The government-funded and operated KBS TV network has refused to broadcast "Gentleman" because it claims that the scene where Psy kicks a parking cone shows disrespect to public property.
"Gentleman" lacks the catchiness of "Gangnam Style," although its choreographed hip-swaying dance movements are becoming popular, as did the horse-riding moves in "Gangnam Style." Many famous Korean comedians who are friends of Psy make cameo appearances, as some of them did in "Gangnam Style."
The international popularity of "Gentleman" shows that Psy is not a one-hit wonder.
