The Building Industry Association of Hawaii presented its annual Renaissance Building & Remodeling Awards Wednesday night, honoring excellence in the local design and construction industries. The Carl Reppun Award is annually presented to a small firm for excellence in residential work.

The award, division, project name and winners are:

» Overall Grand New Residential, New Residential, projects more than $2,000,001, Hale Kapena, Long & Associates Architects & Interiors and Longhouse Development LLC.

» Overall Grand Residential Remodel, Residential Remodeling, projects more than $500,001, Subtle Elegance, Armstrong Builders LLC and Peter Vincent Architects.

» Overall Grand Commercial Remodel, Commercial Remodeling, projects from 7,501 sq. ft. to 15,000 sq. ft., Easter Seals at Kahului, Armstrong Pacific LLC.

» Overall Grand New Commercial, Hawaii BuiltGreen™, National Green Standard WCC Library Learning Commons, Architects Hawaii Ltd.

» Carl Reppun Award Residential Remodeling, projects more than $500,001, Makiki Heights Residence, Hawaii Architecture LLP & Complete Construction Services Corp.

The annual BIA-Hawaii Buy and Build Green Conference and Expo will take place Friday at the Hawai‘i Convention Center.
